Artist Statement

My artistic practice emerges research-driven and aesthetically exploratory from personal, emotional states and experiences and uses metaphors and mythical narratives to arrive at an interdisciplinary investigation of social and political relations. In this process I combine forms of expression from various disciplines such as film, drawing and ceramics.

Intuitively my artistic practice is rooted in themes such as mental health and vulnerability, collective healing, trans-generational trauma, memory and body, post-humanism and eco-feminism. I translate, interlace and layer these topics through a mythic, symbolic, and often transcendent narrative and visual language that draws on nature-allegories, the female body, and the relationship with our consciousness.
